Sarasota-based professional employer organization Progressive Employer Services (PES), announced the launch of a First Aid and Rescue Team training program for their internal employees, as part of their disaster and business continuity preparation.
“This training will provide the members of the Rescue and First Aid team with the skills and confidence to provide aid to their coworkers,” said Joe Ott, vice president of risk management. “When a serious injury or event occurs, immediate action is needed and we want to ensure our team members are prepared to act.”
“Although employers are not required to provide this level of training, every large organization should have an Emergency Response team available and onsite that can administer first aid and CPR in the event of a disaster,” said Michael Corley, president of PES. “Our employees are valuable. Their safety and well being is a top priority in our organization.”
The rescue team will consist of 17 PES employees from the company’s Sarasota, Cape Coral, Ocala, Palm Harbor and West Palm Beach offices. The training will be in their Sarasota corporate office during the month of September and will be conducted by the American Red Cross.
“We want employees to return home to their families safely [in the event of a disaster],” said Ott. “This should be the top priority for all organizations.”
